Pregnancy is one of the most beautiful and natural occurrences in our lives and, as a Chicago Maternity Photographer, I absolutely love documenting it. Some women may be nervous about having maternity photographs taken because of the many changes the body goes through. However, when you find the right photographer they can capture your body and its beauty flawlessly. A photographer that specializes in maternity and newborn photography will have experience and the skills to make you look your best during this wonderful time. It is so important that you connect and trust your photographer so that you are completely comfortable during your session. Your session should take place between 28-34 weeks. Every woman and every pregnancy is unique, so your exact timing will vary. We want you to be showing with a beautiful, large belly, but it is also important that you are completely comfortable. If pregnancy photographs are something that you are interested in be sure to plan ahead, life gets very busy towards the third trimester.

As a premiere Chicago Newborn Photographer, Julia Franzosa Photography recommends having your newborn photography session take place when your baby is between 5 and 7 days old. This timeframe ensures that we are able to capture the most poses of your sleepy, curly newborn. Along with individual portraits of your newborn we usually mix in some photojournalistic family images. It is so important to preserve these first few days of your baby’s life as they change so quickly. We had a great beach session the other week. Sometimes it is hard to focus when there is so much going on (sand, waves, sticks, rocks and even dogs) but all of these kids did an excellent job and we got some very fun shots.
