Last week I was lucky enough to go to Atlanta to celebrate my best friend’s 30th birthday. We had so, so much fun…. I wish we still lived in the same state! While I was there I was able to photograph a few adorable kids and canines on my trip. This trip inspired another, and I will be headed to Santa Barbara in October for more holiday Mini Sessions. Santa Barbara Mini Sessions | October 8th, 2011

I am so excited to announce that we will be holding mini sessions in Santa Barbara on October 8th. This is the perfect time to capture beautiful images of your family and be prepared this holiday season. I know how busy things get once we reach October, so get a head start this year. Mini sessions are a wonderful way to capture your family and your love. Your children change so quickly and all too often you are always behind the camera and never in the images. This year I challenge you to participate and receive lovely portraits of you, your family, your life.

These mini sessions will be held in Santa Barbara on October 8th, 2011. Please contact me soon for more information as there are only a limited number of sessions.

$150 includes:

20-30 minute session

10-15 images in an online gallery

25 custom holiday cards

I met this super sweet family at “their” beach and we had a great time: cheesing it up for the camera, building sandcastles, and throwing rocks into the vast ocean. We had so much fun and captured some really beautiful photographs just in time for Christmas Cards and the Holiday Season! Thanks again for a great session!

Last week I got the absolute joy and pleasure to visit my Nana in Oregon. At 85, she is really living the dream. She creates beautiful artwork in her studio, spins yarn, and knits up a storm! I really had to twist her arm into letting me photograph her, but once we started she was a complete natural. Watching her create this piece was a very special experience. You can check out (and even purchase) her awesome collage paintings. She is such an amazing lady… I think she passed down some of her creative genes to me =)

I love you, Nana! And I can’t wait to come and visit again soon!!! It was slightly chilly for my taste though, back to my life in Santa Barbara.

Photographing the F Family was a blast! We picked a perfectly sunny day… No clouds no June Gloom carrying out until August!!! It is finally beginning to feel like summer. They were a seriously sweet family and we captured some amazing photographs on the beach. It is so perplexing how fast children grow, it all flies by in an instant. Photography captures the truth about childhood: childhood is fleeting. From the moment a child enters this world they encounter change. It is inevitable. Hold onto today.

I have been part of this family’s life for almost three years. It makes me so incredibly happy to be able capture images of these children, just as they are, over and over again. They have each changed so much in the time that I have known them and through these photographs each major milestone can be cherished forever. It is so important to photograph or video your child, they will be able to have these keepsakes for years to come.

Happy Second Birthday to one of my dearest friends. Blakey it has been a joy and an honor to watch you grow, I love you little buddy! Hold onto today.
