Family Photographer in Chicago | Picture Perfect, Family Photojournalism Photography

I met this adorable family through Sassy Moms in the City, a great resource for savvy and chic Chicago mamas. We had such a great time at baby A’s six month portrait session. This age is my absolute favorite for baby sessions – or right around 6 months. Once baby is sitting on their own, but not crawling makes for the perfect photography session. Mom was getting A dressed and ready for our shoot while sat back and captured their day to day. Their simplistic style was a perfect match for my photography.

Capturing everyday interactions in a photojournalistic way  is my absolute favorite part of a session. Capturing real moments, real laughter and real love is so important – that is the part of your family that you will always remember. Don’t get me wrong a perfect portrait is also important, but their is just something about capturing the emotion and connection between a family that really moves me.

Chicago Wedding Photography in Millennium Park

This gorgeous couple had a destination wedding in Mexico this summer. While they did have gorgeous images from their beach wedding they wanted to have bride and groom portraits in Chicago as well. We were up before the sun and explored the city and captured some special moments for them. From North Avenue Beach to Millennium Park we squeezed in quite a few of Chicago’s wonderful landmarks. The beach path was actually quite crowded with morning joggers, however there wasn’t another soul in Millennium  Park. We were able to capture some beautiful wedding pictures at Chicago’s bean sculpture and around the park. We had a blast, thanks again!

California Children’s Photographer | Another Year, Another Photo

I absolutely love my job. It offers me the flexibility to travel around the country and do family portraits. In October, I went home to Santa Barbara and held a few family sessions. This little guy and his mama have been letting me take their annual holiday photo for two years now and it is an absolute joy. Check out Diego’s family portrait on the beach from last year. He has grown a lot, but is absolutely still a little charmer.

Watching children grow is another one of my favorite things about this job! Thank you so much for another fantastic year = )
